01
Information Kept on Your Device
The main information you create in Esas is stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. This may include:
- Tasks, routines, and tags
- Progress details such as levels and streaks
- Schedule settings, including wake time and notification choices
- Journal entries you add in the app
If you use Esas without signing in, this core app data remains on that device. If you sign in, selected data can also be synchronized as described below.
02
Optional Account Sign-In
You can use Esas without creating an account. If you decide to sign in with Apple, Google, or email, authentication is handled by Clerk. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, Clerk may receive:
- Your email address
- Your name, if you allow it to be shared
- An authentication token from Apple or Google
- A profile photo, if you choose one
This information is used to let you sign in and manage your account session. If you choose a profile photo, Clerk stores and serves it for your account so it can appear in Esas; you can replace or remove that photo in the app. Signing out disconnects the account from that device but does not by itself delete the Clerk account.
03
Optional Account Sync
When you sign in, Esas uses Convex to synchronize app data across your devices. Synchronized data may include tasks, routines, tags, schedule preferences, progress and completion records, account and device identifiers, timezone settings, and related app content. This data is used for app functionality, recovery, cross-device sync, and in-app personalization.
04
Analytics and Reliability
Esas uses PostHog for limited, manually defined product analytics and operational measurements, such as feature interactions, permission outcomes, and sync or cache health. Automatic interaction capture and session replay are disabled. For signed-in users, analytics may be linked to the account identifier so features and reliability can be understood across sessions.
The esasway.com website uses PostHog for cookieless, aggregate visit measurement. The website stores no cookies or persistent identifiers on your device, does not automatically capture interactions or session replays, and does not link website visits to an Esas app account.
Esas uses Sentry for crash reports and scrubbed error diagnostics. Default personal-information collection, performance tracing, and session replay are disabled. User and device identifiers sent to Sentry are hashed. These services are used to improve app functionality and reliability, not for advertising or tracking.
05
Notifications
Esas can schedule local reminders on your device. If you allow push notifications, Esas also uses OneSignal to deliver them. OneSignal may process a push subscription identifier, a hashed account identifier, permission state, timezone, notification preferences, and delivery or interaction status. Esas does not enable OneSignal location collection.
06
Purchases
Apple handles App Store billing. Esas uses RevenueCat to manage subscription access. RevenueCat may process an account identifier, device information, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, and expiration information. Esas does not receive your payment-card or bank-account details.
07
Audio Permissions
Esas may request microphone access for audio-related features. When used, audio is processed on your device and is not uploaded to a server by Esas.
08
Information We Do Not Collect
Esas does not collect precise or coarse location, contacts, calendar data, browsing or search history, advertising identifiers, payment-card or bank-account details, or audio recordings. Esas does not include advertising networks and does not use collected data to track you across apps or websites.
09
Data Retention and Deletion
Deleting Esas removes local app data from that device. Connected providers may retain account, synchronized, purchase, notification, analytics, and diagnostic data as needed to provide their services and meet applicable obligations. You can remove a profile photo in the app. If you have signed in and want your account and associated cloud data deleted, contact us and we will help process the request.
10
Children's Privacy
Esas is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Esas changes. If we make a material change, we will provide notice in the app, on the website, or through another reasonable method.
